17, 2007 - GIFT OF FORGIVENESS
Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
How would our faith in Jesus Christ call us to respond differently and
faithfully to crimes, to sins that we experience?.

10, 2007 - THE GIVER WHO RECEIVES
Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
I recently got a bumper sticker that says, “Grace happens!” Grace matters!
Without grace, without grace from our creator, without God’s grace, we
cannot live an abundant life! Grace is the theme of my life in the last
few years. It is not that grace was not in my life before. It is that
I have learned a new way of seeing and recognizing the gift of grace given
me.

13, 2005 - BREAKING THROUGH
Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
Once in a while, we see a television ad that really inspires us and that
makes us really ponder about (buying) the product. Or at least, we become
interested in finding out more about what they are selling. I have seen
this interesting ad on TV lately.

Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
This was yesterday’s CNN headline on the web: “Airlines ground U.S. flights
amid new security fears.” Other web news said, “Flights to U.S. cancelled
on security fears.” “Flights to U.S. cancelled on terror fears.”
It seems that security is a topic that we
cannot avoid in our daily life. Security issue has caused anxiety and
fear among us. Last week, I was talking to a couple of people from our
church. I don’t remember how we shifted our conversation. But we started
talking about what it was like, what we were doing the day of September
11.

25, 2004 - THE BASIS OF SERVANTHOOD
Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
From early morning until midday, that is, about 6 hours of time, the Israelites
listened to the Word read and interpreted to them.
What a long sermon? Most of us, perhaps all
of us, cannot stand that kind of long hours of listening to God’s Word.
When I was in seminary, we were trained to be able to complete a sermon
in 12 minutes. We were told that people could not concentrate more than
12 minutes. You can tell me how true that is? The Industrial Revolution
certainly has changed us, changed our life style, changed our perception
of time.

18, 2004 - SHARING NEW WINE; SHARING MIRACLE
Rev. Y. Eunice Yang
This Thursday will be the Chinese New Year’s Day. The Year of the Monkey.
I don’t know how true the tradition still is. I remember when I was growing
up in Taiwan, I really looked forward to the coming of the Chinese New
Year more than the Western New Year. There was not much celebration at
all for the Western New Year.
I looked forward to the Chinese New
Year first of all because the school was off for 3 weeks though it came
with lots of homework that we had to turn in after the winter break, including
writing diary.
